P-16 Education

Central Texas is a region of extraordinary economic success, yet our absenteeism rates are among the highest in the state. AARO is not sitting idly by, wishing things were different. Instead, we conceived and helped midwife the birth of the E3 Alliance, a nonprofit research and advocacy organization that is serving as a national model for improving education. The AARO P-16 Education Committee works on its own and through the E3 Alliance on such important issues as attendance, Pre-K enrollment, and the use of proven teaching methods to galvanize middle school students’ interest in learning.

Big Bet

Enroll all 2,000 – 2,200 eligible but non-enrolled Central Texas students in public school Pre-K in order to improve education outcomes and return $30M per cohort to the region.
