Building and Retaining an Affordable Austin

On November 5th, City of Austin voters approved $65 M in general obligation bonds for affordable housing.  The proposal passed with about 60% of the vote.

In 2009, AARO co-authored a report – “Building and Retaining an Affordable Austin” – in partnership with the Urban Land Institute-Austin, HousingWorks, and the Real Estate Council of Austin.  Many of the policy recommendations outlined in the 2009 report continue to be relevant today as the city moves forward with the new bond funding for affordable housing.
